She was married Laverne “Bud” Kertis on Nov. 28, 1959, at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. He died on Sept. 13, 2009. She worked for various food industry companies in the area as a production worker, including Celestial Farms, Ore Ida and McCain Foods. Survivors include three daughters, Cindy (Eric) Stigen, Etowah, Tenn.; Laurie (James “Ace”) Anderson and Linda Kertis, both of Wisconsin Rapids; one son, Laverne Kertis Jr., Elgin, Ill.; her mother, Tressie Courter, Bancroft; one sister, Virginia (Jerry) Hansen, Bancroft; and three grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Keenlance; and one brother, Donald Courter."3,4
