• Death: William Winters died of a cerebral hemorrhage on 22 July 1943 at age ~74 at Rosebud Community Hospital in Ashland, Rosebud County, Montana, United States.⁴
• Burial: He was buried at Willow Crossing CemeteryG+, in Powder River County, Montana, United States.⁵
